Fuck fuck fuck! The Grammys are on tonight on Star World and if you'd rather not read any SPOILERS I'd skip this post: I really don't know why I didn't see this coming but U2 won everything they were nominated for (that's Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Rock Album, Rock Song, and Rock Group or Duo Vocal Performance) and it pisses me off like fuck. This makes their total Grammy wins 383, 000, 000 and I don't think the Grammys have exhausted of honouring them yet. HOW can anyone believe that How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb was the best of the year- sure the competition didn't exactly set the world on fire but Mariah and Gwen were easily more deserving, McCartney hasn't made a good album in years but Kanye was ROBBED (at least he has the Pazz and Jop to keep him warm) - Late Registration not only improved upon the template of his debut but managed to become a relevant, layered, interesting and, above all, flat-out AWESOME piece of work...

I will say that I'm THRILLED that Kelly Clarkson went 2 for 2 with her noms to wins ratio. Since U Been Gone is without a doubt the best song of 2005 and I'm glad that she won Pop Female Vocal and Pop Album for the surprisingly good Breakaway. Really really glad that she's moved away from Idol to become a two-time Grammy winner! Also thrilled for the Gorillaz who won Best Pop Vocal Collaboration for Feel Good, inc. with De La Soul
